>>26384 All the cast except the MC and the villains acts like they're in a comedy. MC's more realistic reaction to the situation that unfolds contrasting to the rest the cast's more slapstick reaction felt kind of a cheap attempt at trying to be funny and more family friendly. Like they just wrote a plot around human trafficking and then shoe horned in many comical characters to make the movie more marketable for general audience. Reverse works too, like they wrote several slapstick scenes and then shoehorned in a human trafficking plot because the woke movie snobs can never appreciate a movie that's purely entertainment and it's necessary they require a soycial message to convey too. Even the girl's parents who should be treating it more seriously felt like comic relief characters. Overall it felt like they wanted to eat their cake and have it too, which kind of felt cheap. Also for some reason I strangely found the scene where the villain presented the loli in front of her family as a slave/servant girl kind of hot even though I'm not a pedo.

>>26404 Holy retard It's black comedy, dumb fuck. It's supposed to create comedy out of this serious issue. It's tonal whiplash is deliberate. It also makes fun of many serious tropes in this way by showing them how silly they actually are. You talk like someone from the west who is obsessed with dumb shit like tonal consistency.

>>26426 I don't know why you're seething. I didn't say the tone isn't inconsistent. Its normal for a movie to have inconsistent tone during the course of its run, especially at the event of climax. However that's not the case here. It was in an oscillation between silly and serious. It's no black comedy, it isn't marketed as such at all. Its a straightforward rescue mission story with slapstick comedy sprinkled between, the MC acts pretty much like standard rescue mission MC, the kidnapping is handled very seriously by both the MC and the comic reliefs. None of the humor is derived from the kidnaping plot or tropes surrounding it. No comedy is derived from making light of a serious situation. It would be a black comedy if it were. Most of the humor is derived from the slapstick action the cast engages in in their 'sidequest' that's part of the main plot. The only "black comedy" it gets is the contrast between the MC's and the whole main cast's reactions to the situations, but I don't think it was intentional. I'm not particularly iffy about tonal inconsistency, I'm no movie snob either, I admit I too laughed at the humor of the movie, but when you shoehorn in a serious plot with "senty" scenes(I hope you're Tamil or mallu and understands what it means), I find the sudden shift in tone jarring and just take the remote and skip past those scenes. This was the same issue I found in another smellu movie Amar Akbar Antony. I found the movie funny, but when you also insert a serious story about child rapists and pedos into such a movie, I find it annoying and a cheap attempt to appeal both to comedy and dramedy lovers at the same time. I remember searching for my remote andd skipping past any scene that child appears in the movie. Its just stupid and cheap.

>>26429 What? It was advertised as black comedy and Nelson intended it to be that way. Just watch that interview on film companion south. You're probably the only one I met who thinks this film just added comedy elements to pander? Nothing about the plot is serious other than the premise of it and maybe the climax. >None of the humor is derived from the kidnaping plot or tropes surrounding it. All of the humor is derived from it. Like that ara kai segment. At every point it starts serious by taking its premise seriously for a moment, but intentionally devolves it into silly shit by tracing those same serious tropes down to their silly conclusions. You're looking at that slapstick humor out of context.

>>26460 >>26463 So much seethe all because I called your dumeel movie shit. Kek, I'll bite the bait. Tell me one joke/scene from the movie that's joking about kidnaping or tries to make light of the kidnaping. >Nelson said it was black comedy Then neither you nor that retard knows what black comedy means. >At every point it starts serious by taking its premise seriously for a moment, but intentionally devolves it into silly shit by tracing those same serious tropes down to their silly conclusions. That's basically what slapstick humor is. >MC says something serious >Le funny moustached guy or fat guy says something funny about some minute detail like joking about the place or some other dude they've to involve or talking le funny things about themselves >MC looks blank at the le funny character Rinse and repeat and that's how almost all jokes in the show are. There is not one joke that could be called "black comedy" that was joking about the kidnapping.

>>26470 >There is not one joke that could be called "black comedy" that was joking about the kidnapping. You clearly didn't watch the film. It literally can't stop joking about kidnapping every 5 minutes.

>>26473 I asked you to tell me one scene, that shouldn't be so hard if it was literally joking about kidnaping every five minutes.

>>26473 Note, le funny fat man and le funny moustached manlet making self depreciating jokes or making fun of another le funny character isn't what "black comedy" is.

>>26477 Bhagat's entry scene where you're made to laugh at the plight of a father whose daughter is missing. That song montage The gang somehow ending up kidnapping a girl Yogibabu going "but sar we don't kidnap girls of powerful people and you've kidnapped us more than we kidnapped little girls" All this just in first 10 minutes. You're made to laugh at disturbing shit. That's basically what black comedy is all about. The fact that you think this is a serious movie compromised by comedy just shows how retarded you are when it clearly doesn't try to be anything other than comedy(even if you disagree that it's black humor).

>>26479 >Bhagat's entry scene where you're made to laugh at the plight of a father whose daughter is missing. That's not made fun of, what's made fun is his lack is self awareness. Not the plight of the father. >That song montage What did it make fun of? >The gang somehow ending up kidnapping a girl Neither made fun of, its treated as some le 8D chess move from MC with mass bgm and shit in the background, only "humour" was showing the cowardice of other characters. >Yogibabu going "but sar we don't kidnap girls of powerful people and you've kidnapped us more than we kidnapped little girls" Again self depreciating humour, there isn't anything made fun about being kidnapped or making light of the kidnapped's situation but making fun about the incompetent bad guys. That's like saying Pokemon is black comedy because it makes fun of Team Rocket all the time.

>>26479 >The fact that you think this is a serious movie compromised by comedy I didn't say that retard, I said I think it was a silly movie compromised by a serious plot that had no business there.

>>26483 I'm convinced it's actually your autism or sense of humor that is at fault. You're taking "serious" scenes at face value unable to see obvious humor in it. You think it's just characters saying funny shit but missing out on context clues that makes their funny remarks extremely inappropriate. Your team rocket comparison doesn't make sense because doctor isn't about making fun of incompetent bad guys but making light of the entire serious situation and using it as a vehicle for comedy which is literally the definition of black comedy. No one said black comedy can't rely on slapstick humor. Literally look up the definition of black comedy anywhere.
